CAD Technicians are an essential part of the Buchanan & Harper team. This role is responsible for converting field data into accurate digital drawings and technical files used for land surveying and civil engineering projects.

CAD Technicians work closely with field crews, engineers, and clients to ensure survey drawings are accurate, clear, and meet professional standards. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are key to success in this position.

CAD Technician responsibilities may include:

• Creating and updating digital drawings from field survey data
  
  
• Preparing survey plats, exhibits, and construction drawings
  
  
• Working with field crews and engineers to verify data accuracy
  
  
• Reviewing plans for completeness and consistency
  
  
• Communicating with clients, engineers, and internal teams as needed
  
  
• Managing multiple drafting projects simultaneously
  
  
• Maintaining organized digital files and documentation

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

Experience or formal education in computer drafting is required.

• Knowledge of permitting and legal requirements related to civil engineering and/or land surveying
  
  
• Experience working with survey or engineering firms
  
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
